United Community has strengthened its asset-based lending (ABL) team with the addition of Steve Janson as senior ABL business development officer. Janson brings more than 25 years of commercial finance and ABL experience, further enhancing United’s ability to deliver flexible financing solutions to middle-market companies throughout the Southeast.
“Steve has built a strong reputation in the secured finance industry through his work developing relationships, sourcing quality opportunities and helping customers navigate complex financing situations,” Caleb McFaddin, ABL division manager for United Community, said. “His market knowledge, referral network and proven track record of success make him an outstanding addition to our team.”
Janson’s experience includes senior roles in business development, relationship management, and underwriting. He has spent much of his career working in middle-market borrowers, private equity firms, turnaround professionals and referral sources throughout the Southeast. At United, he will help companies access financing tailored to their assets and business needs.
“United’s relationship-driven approach is a strong fit with how I’ve worked with businesses throughout my career,” Janson said. “I look forward to helping companies across the Southeast find financing solutions that support their goals.”
Janson earned an MBA in finance from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business at the University of Pittsburgh and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He currently serves as president of the Carolinas Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association (TMA), and is an active member of both the Secured Finance Network (SFNet) and the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG).
