Polsinelli added Kal Dargan to its tax practice as a shareholder in New York, continuing its strategic growth in the market.

Dargan’s practice focuses on a broad spectrum of federal income tax matters, including U.S. and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, strategic investments and joint ventures, spinoffs, bankruptcy reorganizations and out-of-court restructurings, private credit and internal restructurings, with an emphasis on delivering practical, tax-efficient solutions throughout the business lifecycle.

“Kal’s sophisticated transactional tax experience and practical, business-oriented approach make him a strong addition to our team,” William J. Sanders, chair of Polsinelli’s tax practice, said. “His addition further enhances our ability to guide clients through sophisticated domestic and cross-border transactions while strengthening our support for asset managers and other investors across the lifecycle of their investments.”

Dargan has extensive experience advising on the tax implications of equity and debt investments, corporate and partnership matters, alternative investment products, qualified small business stock, capital structure changes, financing transactions, tax credit transfers and international tax matters. Additionally, Dargan has advised investment funds on matters involving formation, structuring, fund operations, management and GP arrangements.

“I am excited to join the exceptional group of lawyers at Polsinelli and collaborate with colleagues across offices and practice areas,” Dargan said. “I look forward to contributing to the firm’s continued growth and success.”

Dargan earned his LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law, his J.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles School of Law and his B.S., summa cum laude, from Tufts University.
