OceanSound Partners, a private equity firm that invests in technology and technology-enabled services companies serving aerospace, defense, government and highly-regulated end markets, appointed Kenneth Wolff as partner and chief legal officer. Wolff will provide strategic and legal leadership across the firm’s transactions, portfolio companies and all related governance matters.

Wolff joins OceanSound from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he served as a Partner and co-head of the firm’s private equity group. During his 27-year tenure at Skadden, Wolff concentrated on mergers, acquisitions, advising public and private companies, and private equity firms across a wide range of U.S. and cross-border transactions. Notably, Wolff advised on numerous landmark transactions in the defense, government services and technology sectors.

“We have had the privilege of working closely with Ken as a trusted advisor for over 15 years and are thrilled to welcome him to the OceanSound team. His deep expertise with private equity firms and their transactions, combined with his extensive experience in aerospace, defense, government and highly-regulated sectors, makes him uniquely suited for this role,” Joe Benavides, founder and CEO of OceanSound Partners, said. “As we continue to grow our franchise and expand our portfolio, Ken’s leadership and keen judgment will be a tremendous asset.”

Wolff said, “I am thrilled to join OceanSound Partners. Having spent much of my career advising leading private equity firms, I have a deep appreciation for OceanSound Partners’ quality, sophistication, and future prospects. The firm has established a differentiated and repeatable approach to sourcing investments, executing operational improvements and driving transformational growth in middle market companies operating in national security and mission-critical sectors, and I look forward to partnering with the OceanSound team and our portfolio company executives to support the firm’s continued growth and success.”

Wolff holds a J.D. from Fordham University School of Law and a B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University.
