AlixPartners‘ Spencer Ware and Ben Chesters have been recognized in M&A Advisor’s Ninth Annual “Emerging Leaders” Awards. Ware is a director in the firm’s Turnaround and Restructuring practice, while Chesters is a SVP in the same practice

Ware focuses on turnaround advisory in the retail sector and has broad experience in a variety of sectors. His past engagements include Gymboree Group, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, SemGroup Energy Partners and J.C. Penney. He served as chief restructuring officer of Eastern Outfitters, which itself was named M&A Advisor’s 2017 Mid-Sized Deal of the Year. He joined AlixPartners in 2009 from advisory firm Zolfo Cooper.

Chesters has specialized in turnaround advisory across a broad range of industries during his almost 15 years in the turnaround industry. His assignments at AlixPartners have included a key role in the successful restructuring of Caesars Entertainment. Earlier in his career, he worked on the restructurings of a large telecommunications client, a mining-services company and a group of motor-vehicle dealerships. In addition, he served as the deputy to the interim CFO at a major not-for-profit organization during a crisis period at that organization. He joined AlixPartners in 2015 from advisory firm Deloitte, which he joined in 2006.

“Spencer and Ben are two of the finest emerging talents in their practice at AlixPartners and are very deserving of this recognition,” said Lisa Donahue, global leader of AlixPartners’ Turnaround and Restructuring practice and a managing director at the firm. “Their talent, hard work and dedication are indicative of what AlixPartners is all about, and we expect even greater things from them in the future.”
