Latham & Watkins Add M&A Practitioner Hamill to NY Office

Latham & Watkins has added Justin Hamill as a partner in the NY office corporate department and member of the mergers & acquisitions, private equity, and entertainment, sports & media practices. Hamill advises public and private companies, investment funds, and financial institutions in negotiated and contested M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, joint ventures, public and private investments, and restructurings.

Hamill has substantial experience across a broad array of industries, with a particular focus on entertainment, sports, and media. Hamill also regularly handles sophisticated transactions in the technology, financial services, consumer products, healthcare, and real estate sectors.

“We are delighted to welcome another widely respected and accomplished M&A practitioner to our New York office,” said Rich Trobman, chair and managing partner of Latham & Watkins. “Justin’s arrival underscores our priority to serve clients by further growing our mergers & acquisitions practice in New York. He will enhance Latham’s global platform and our ability to help clients navigate their highest-stakes transactions in an increasingly complex business environment.”

“Justin is a recognized M&A practitioner of the highest caliber and we are thrilled to welcome him to our expanding practice in New York,” said Marc Jaffe, global chair of Latham’s corporate department. “Justin is the third high-profile M&A partner to join our New York office in 2019. His arrival reflects our continued focus on expanding our premier corporate and private equity mergers & acquisitions practice in New York and globally, and our steadfast commitment to evolving with our clients’ needs.”

“I look forward to leveraging Latham’s integrated, global platform and industry focus to serve my clients,” said Hamill. “The firm has an excellent reputation globally for serving as a strategic advisor to clients on their most high-stakes transactions, and that reputation, combined with their deep industry expertise, particularly in entertainment, sports, and media, drew me to Latham.”

Latham announced in January 2019 the arrivals of Alexander Johnson and David Beller to the mergers & acquisitions and private equity practices in the firm’s New York office. Hamill, Johnson, and Beller all bring substantial experience advising on complex M&A transactions.

Hamill joins Latham & Watkins from Paul, Weiss in New York.
