Holland & Knight added Tal Hacohen as a partner in New York within its corporate, M&A and securities practice group.
Hacohen advises domestic and multinational public and private companies in the fields of technology, life sciences, municipal services, financial services, specialty manufacturing and energy, among others. Prior to joining Holland & Knight, Hacohen was a partner at WilmerHale.
Hacohen’s work encompasses strategic transactions of every scale and structure, including domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and debt and equity financings. He also regularly advises boards of directors, shareholders and other stakeholders in all aspects of corporate, partnership and limited liability company law, including corporate governance and fiduciary duty matters.
As part of his corporate practice, Hacohen offers strategic, solution-oriented advice to early- and growth-stage companies, with a particular focus on Israeli technology companies. He often serves as outside general counsel to early-stage companies, assisting with general corporate matters, capital raising transactions, corporate governance and overall business strategy.
“We’re excited to welcome Tal to the firm, as he brings valuable M&A experience across several industries,” Amy Leder, executive partner of Holland & Knight’s New York office and co-chair of the firm’s corporate, M&A and securities practice group in the Northeast region, said. “Tal also has strong relationships with Israeli clients, which will create synergistic opportunities for him and the firm’s Israel team.”
“I have long been impressed with Holland & Knight’s strong and diverse corporate practice offerings in New York and globally. In particular, the firm’s ranking among the top five most active law firms in the U.S. and worldwide for M&A and private equity transactions is remarkable, so I’m excited to add strength on strength and help the firm continue to grow its market presence,” Hacohen said. “The firm also has an unwavering commitment to emerging companies, especially in the technology industry, and is highly attuned to their needs. I look forward to leveraging the firm’s resources and platform, including its unique matchmaking program, HK Deal Flow, as I collaborate with my new colleagues to provide first-rate services to clients.”
Hacohen also has an active pro bono practice and is a member and volunteer with local organizations and nonprofits, including Street Project of New York, New York Cares and University Community Social Services’ “The Meatloaf Kitchen.”
Hacohen earned a J.D. degree from Fordham University School of Law and a B.B.A. degree with distinction from Emory University. He is fluent in Hebrew.
