Emily K. Pauley and Andrea L. Taylor recently joined law firm Babst Calland’s Charleston, W.Va. office.
Pauley joins as an associate attorney in the litigation practice. Her work includes representing corporate clients in complex commercial litigation. Before joining Babst Calland, she worked as assistant counsel to the West Virginia Intermediate Court of Appeals. In this role, Pauley reviewed complex appeals in civil litigation, employment law, administrative law, workers’ compensation law and property law. She is a 2022 graduate of West Virginia College of Law.
Taylor joins as a staff attorney in the land and energy title and energy and natural resources practice groups. Taylor brings extensive experience advising oil and gas operators, midstream companies and private investors on complex land, title and acquisition matters across the Appalachian Basin. Her practice focuses on title examination and curative work, purchase-and-sale due diligence, leasehold acquisition and negotiation of agreements that underpin energy development, including joint operating agreements, mineral leases, pipeline agreements and right-of-way easements. She has worked in various legal, project management and field roles since 2009, advising on title, acquisitions, mineral due diligence, land acquisition, permitting, infrastructure development and regulatory compliance. Before joining Babst Calland, Taylor was a title coordinator for Infinity Natural Resources. She is a 2007 graduate of the West Virginia University College of Law.
