Arleen A. Nand, a shareholder in global law firm Greenberg Traurig’s Minneapolis office, has been named a Fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers (ACCFL). This honor is given to commercial finance lawyers who have achieved pre-eminence in their field, demonstrated significant commitment to improving their profession and communities, and made sustained contributions to learning and scholarship.

The induction took place March 30, at the College’s Annual Meeting, held at the Vancouver Club in Vancouver, BC, Canada.

According to its website, ACCFL was founded in the early 1990s with the goal of uniting finance lawyers of the highest skill, experience, and standards of ethical and professional conduct.

Today, it includes nearly 300 members who contribute to its mission of improving and promoting the field of commercial finance law through education, legislative reform, and the recognition of distinguished practitioners and scholars in the profession.

Nand, who is a member of the firm’s Finance Practice, represents banks, cooperatives, and investment banks, as well as hedge funds, private equity firms, and corporations, in cross-border and domestic financings. She has structured, drafted, and negotiated more than $40 billion of syndicated loan, commercial paper and project financings. She has also served as lead counsel on numerous financings, including cross-border credit facilities, securitizations, syndicated loan transactions, credit-linked notes, asset-based and cash flow financings, convertible debt facilities, private placements, joint venture financings, debtor-in-possession credit facilities, senior and mezzanine transactions, and leveraged lease financings. She has advised clients on transactions involving various domestic and foreign collateral issues, including credit facilities secured by rolling stock, maritime vessels, aircraft, coal reserves, oil and gas, and carbon credits.
