U.S. Bank named Eric Gonzales healthcare business banking region executive for the West, where he will lead a growing team of 18 bankers serving medical, dental and veterinary practitioners across a 10-state footprint.
Gonzales joins U.S. Bank from a regional bank, where he was healthcare banking market director. He brings more than 20 years of commercial banking experience to the role, including 17 years dedicated to healthcare banking. Based in Portland, he will report to Joe Persichetti, head of healthcare business banking at U.S. Bank.
In his new position, Gonzales will oversee a team focused on delivering specialized financing and banking solutions to a wide variety of healthcare practices, including physician groups, dental support organizations (DSOs), ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) and veterinary practices. He will lead team members supporting clients in Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
His expertise spans commercial lending, credit administration, portfolio management, special credits and executive leadership. Throughout his career, he has led thousands of complex healthcare financing transactions involving physician groups, dental support organizations (DSOs), ambulatory surgery centers and other healthcare providers.
“Eric’s extensive experience serving healthcare professionals and leading high-performing teams makes him an exceptional addition to our healthcare business banking group,” Persichetti said. “His deep understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges facing medical, dental and veterinary practices will help us continue delivering tailored financial solutions and trusted advice to our clients.”
Gonzales, who earned a bachelor of science in mathematics from Oregon, is also a graduate of the Pacific Coast Banking School and the University of Washington Executive Leadership Program, where he later returned as an executive student adviser. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Gonzales is active in his community, serving on the board of trustees of De La Salle North Catholic High School in Portland.
“I’m honored to join U.S. Bank and work alongside such a talented team,” Gonzales said. “Healthcare continues to evolve rapidly, and our clients need a banking partner that understands their businesses as well as their financial goals. I look forward to partnering with physician groups, DSOs, ambulatory surgery centers and healthcare providers across the West, delivering the specialized expertise and full capabilities of U.S. Bank to help them grow.”
