Thompson Coburn added Aaron M. DeLong as a partner in its corporate and securities practice group. His experience includes advising businesses on domestic and cross-border M&A, dispositions, joint ventures, loans, reorganizations, recapitalizations and other general corporate matters, with a focus on the energy, maritime and infrastructure sectors. DeLong will soon join Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office.

Ranked in the Chambers 2025 USA Guide for Corporate/M&A, DeLong rejoined private practice in 2021 after years of public service. His posts included serving as a foreign service officer of the U.S. Department of State in Cairo, Egypt, and as deputy city attorney for the City of New Orleans. He subsequently served as the research and policy director at the Business Council of New Orleans.

DeLong earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
