Thompson Coburn added Aaron M. DeLong as a partner in its corporate and securities practice group. His experience includes advising businesses on domestic and cross-border M&A, dispositions, joint ventures, loans, reorganizations, recapitalizations and other general corporate matters, with a focus on the energy, maritime and infrastructure sectors. DeLong will soon join Thompson Coburn’s Dallas office.

“We are extremely pleased to welcome Aaron to our corporate team,” David J. Kaufman, co-chair of Thompson Coburn’s corporate and securities practice group, said. “His diverse experience with high-stakes, complex transactions makes him an immediate asset to our national service offerings.”

Ranked in the Chambers 2025 USA Guide for Corporate/M&A, DeLong rejoined private practice in 2021 after years of public service. His posts included serving as a foreign service officer of the U.S. Department of State in Cairo, Egypt, and as deputy city attorney for the City of New Orleans. He subsequently served as the research and policy director at the Business Council of New Orleans.

“Joining the team at Thompson Coburn is an exciting next step in my career,” DeLong said. “I’m excited to leverage the firm’s national platform to partner with clients in the Gulf Coast region and across the country to drive proactive solutions.”

DeLong earned his J.D. from New York University School of Law. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Duke University.
