Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada Donates $77K to United Way

Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada completed its inaugural United Way campaign, donating $77,000 to the organization through employee contributions and company-matching funds. The donations will benefit organizations such as Anna et la Mer, the Lunchbox Café and Le Cheval Sautoir.

“The results of our participation with the United Way have been more than gratifying,” François Nantel, president of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada, said. “The dedication and involvement we have seen from our 300 employees across Canada is humbling.”

In addition to monetary donations, earlier this month, employees of Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada hosted 15 children from Anna Et La Mer at a Trois-Rivières Lions ECHL minor league hockey game. The young people were from families in which a parent is living with a mental health disorder. Their VIP treatment included sitting on the players’ bench during warm-ups, watching the game in an arena dressing room and meeting Lions players.

Additionally, one day each week, Mitsubishi HC Capital Canada offers all employees working in the office a free lunchbox from one of two United Way-affiliated organizations: The Lunchbox Café (Burlington, QC) and Le Cheval Sautoir (Trois-Rivières, QC). The Lunchbox Café is a training cafe for adults with developmental disabilities, while Le Cheval Sautoir supports families, parents, children and professionals in developing skills, healthy lifestyles and self-esteem.

“We believe strongly in the mission of the United Way,” Nantel said, adding that helping both children and adults locally helps build strong and healthy communities while tying with the company’s organizational mission to help build strong local businesses. “We love being involved in our community and making a difference.”
