Wilmington Trust launched its project finance offering in Europe and promoted Keith Reader to managing director to lead this business. Reader will be responsible for building and executing the growth strategy for the product in Europe, with a focus on energy and infrastructure. He will work closely with the Americas team and in collaboration with Will Marder, Wilmington Trust’s managing director of project finance for the Americas, and Doug Lavelle, global project finance sales leader, to build out and grow this business, providing a truly global offering.

“Keith has been an integral part of Wilmington Trust’s project finance evolution, with a steadfast commitment to excellence and the foresight to leverage our existing European enterprise to further drive expansion initiatives and foster innovation,” Marder said. “In this role, he is poised to deliver our suite of project finance trust and agency services to clients who are active in the rapidly expanding European market.”

With extensive banking experience, Reader most recently led a relationship management team for Wilmington Trust and has spent over a decade at the organization specializing in corporate trust and loan agency services. Prior to joining, Reader managed a large portfolio of project finance transactions as a senior transaction manager at Standard Chartered Bank and also held positions with HSBC and Lloyds Bank. Reader’s experience includes syndicated loans, international project finance (renewables, power, utilities, transport, infrastructure, oil and gas, metals and mining), leverage finance, acquisition finance, aviation, shipping, structured trade finance, Islamic finance and restructurings across the UK, Europe, Africa, Middle East, Asia and the Americas.

“I am excited about this new chapter in Wilmington Trust’s project finance journey and humbled by the recognition of my contribution to the company’s growth,” Reader said. “I am looking forward to working with my project finance colleagues to drive growth and further solidify our position as a global leader in this market.”
