Silver Creek Capital Management, an alternative investment boutique focused on developing unique investment solutions for institutional and sophisticated investors globally, hired Nathan Kelso as chief technology officer. For more than a decade, Kelso was chief information security officer of Research Affiliates and earlier served in a senior information technology role at BlackRock.

“We are excited to welcome Nathan to Silver Creek as we scale our firm with best-in-class talent,” Bob Ratliffe, president of Silver Creek, said. “Nathan’s extensive information technology experience, paired with his deep understanding of the investment management sector, will be invaluable as we build systems to increase efficiency and strive to provide the highest-quality service for our clients.”

“Silver Creek has established itself as an innovative investment manager that values utilizing leading-edge technology across strategies,” Kelso said. “I am pleased to join the team and share my considerable experience to continually enhance the firm’s platform to support its future growth and performance.”

The addition of Kelso follows Silver Creek’s recent hiring of David Matter as co-chief investment officer and Michael Callahan as managing director, business development.

Kelso has nearly 30 years of experience serving in information technology roles in the investment management sector. Prior to Research Affiliates, he was director of the platform and integration team supporting BlackRock Alternative Advisors, where he managed the deployment of a client tracking system across the platform. Kelso joined BlackRock in 2007 upon its acquisition of the core asset management business of Seattle-based Quellos Group, where he was associate director, product management. He holds a BA in business administration with an emphasis in finance from Washington State University and is a CFA charterholder and a member of the Orange County Society of Financial Analysts.
