Wells Fargo Appoints Wall, Maggio to Texas Team

byABF Journal Staff

in People

Wells Fargo appointed Whitney Wall and Sylvia Maggio as senior vice presidents and regional managers of the South Texas Middle Market Banking team and the Austin, TX Middle Market Banking team, respectively. Wall replaced longtime market leader Brad Thompson, who will head commercial banking statewide in Oklahoma. Maggio succeeds market leader Mark Metcalfe, who accepted a leadership role within the bank’s Business Banking Group.

Wall will oversee Middle Market Banking operations in North Houston, while Maggio will head operations in Austin and Central Texas. Both will provide credit, treasury management and deposit products to mid-market companies with revenues of $20 million and higher.

“I have known Whitney for many years and have always been impressed with her insight, acumen and commitment to helping businesses grow,” said Jonathan Homeyer, South Texas division manager. “Sylvia has a long history of building trust and helping local middle market companies succeed. Her expertise, integrity and diligence will ensure that the momentum Mark has built serving Central Texas businesses continues.”

Wall joined Wells Fargo in 2001 and has served in a number of roles in Wells Fargo Securities and Wells Fargo Bank in Dallas and San Francisco. She most recently worked in the Energy Credit Resolution group, managing a portfolio in the oilfield services sector.

Maggio is returning to Wells Fargo after leading the local commercial banking team at BBVA Compass. Before that, she worked for more than eight years at Wachovia Bank through its acquisition by Wells Fargo. From 1984 to 2003, Maggio held leadership roles in Business Banking and Commercial Banking at Bank of America.
