National accounting and advisory firm, Weaver, added Dawn Williford, CIA, as a partner in its governance, risk and compliance (GRC) practice. Based in Houston, she brings more than 25 years of experience in risk advisory, internal audit and compliance.

With Big Four and other national accounting firm experience, Williford has supported clients across energy, oil and gas, manufacturing, franchising and entertainment, with risk assessments, internal audit outsourcing and co-sourcing, SOX readiness, SOX compliance and contract compliance. “Dawn has a proven track record of helping organizations manage risk, ensure compliance, and strengthen their control environments while also driving business value,” Brian Thomas, national practice leader, advisory services at Weaver, said. “Her experience directly supports Weaver’s goal of expanding the breadth and depth of our advisory solutions, and she brings the kind of leadership that not only elevates our GRC practice but also delivers measurable impact for our clients.”

John Mackel, CEO and managing partner at Weaver, added, “Adding Dawn to our partnership reflects Weaver’s long-term strategy to grow our advisory platform nationwide. Her ability to align risk and compliance services with broader business goals positions us to capture new opportunities and expand our impact across key markets.”

Williford is a certified internal auditor (CIA) and has a certification in risk management assurance. She received a bachelor of business administration in finance from the University of Texas at Austin.
