U.S. Bank named industry veteran Jodi Richard its new vice chairman and chief risk office. Richard will oversee the company’s Risk Management and Compliance efforts and will succeed P.W. Parker, who is retiring in the fall.
Richard will also join the company’s managing committee and will report to Chairman, President and CEO Andy Cecere.
“Jodi is a strong, capable leader who has helped us transform our operational risk approach, and she will lead the Risk Management and Compliance team well,” said Cecere. “She understands our culture and the importance we place on effective risk management. We are pleased with the quality of talent we continue to attract, retain and develop into leadership roles.”
Richard currently serves as the company’s chief operational risk officer, overseeing operational risk management and independent testing functions.
Prior to her time at U.S. Bank, she spent more than a decade at HSBC in positions of increasing responsibility in risk management and regulatory compliance. She also spent 12 years in the Office of The Comptroller of the Currency as a national bank examiner, specializing in retail credit, and worked as the chief compliance officer at a large credit card bank.
