John Hawk rejoined Womble Bond Dickinson as a partner in the firm’s business litigation group. Previously with Womble Bond Dickinson from 2006 to 2021, Hawk is the first partner addition to the Denver office since it was opened last month.
Eryn Brasovan joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office as a partner in its specialty lending practice. Prior to joining Womble Bond Dickinson, Brasovan was general counsel for an insurance premium finance lender for nearly 15 years.
Edward Schnitzer, David Banker and Wojciech Jung joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s capital markets practice and bankruptcy team in New York as partners. Schnitzer and Banker joined the firm from Montgomery McCracken, while Jung joined from Lowenstein Sandler.
The Maryland Senate unanimously approved amended Senate Bill 496 last week – a measure proposed to curb perceived commercial lending abuses in Maryland by requiring additional financial disclosures when making loans to small businesses. The bill has moved on to the House for consideration.
Joel L. Perrell Jr. joined Womble Bond Dickinson’s Baltimore office as a partner in the capital markets group. Perrell is one of few attorneys in the country with a practice focused on all aspects of insurance premium finance.
Womble Bond Dickinson appointed Michael M. Choy to the firm’s capital markets group as a partner in its Raleigh, NC, office. Choy joined Womble from one of the United States’ largest banks, where he most recently served as senior vice president and managing counsel.
SSG Advisors acted as the investment banker to Retrotope in the sale of substantially all of its assets to RTMFP Enterprises. The sale was effectuated through a Section 363 sale under a confirmed Chapter 11 subchapter V plan of reorganization.

The American Bankruptcy Institute selected Chief Bankruptcy Judge Barbara J. Houser as president of the board of directors for a one-year term. In addition to Houser’s appointment, Robert P. Reynolds was named president-elect and will become president in April 2021.
