Gavin/Solmonese won M&A Advisor’s Industrials Deal of the Year award in recognition of its work on the sale of Masten Space Systems to Astrobotic Technology. Gavin/Solmonese collected the recognition at M&A Advisor‘s 17th Annual Turnaround Awards.
Robert P. Reynolds was elected president of the American Bankruptcy Institute. In addition, Hon. Kevin J. Carey of Hogan Lovells was named president-elect and Eve H. Karasik was elected to serve as the ABI’s first vice president of diversity and inclusion.
The American Bankruptcy Institute selected Chief Bankruptcy Judge Barbara J. Houser as president of the board of directors for a one-year term. In addition to Houser’s appointment, Robert P. Reynolds was named president-elect and will become president in April 2021.
Ted Gavin of Gavin/Solmonese was elected president of the American Bankruptcy Institute, succeeding retired Judge Eugene R. Wedofff, at the organization’s annual spring meeting.
Last April, the commercial finance industry learned that the venerable turnaround firm of NHB Advisors had been acquired by a newly formed corporate consulting firm bearing the name Gavin/Solmonese. While acquisitions of turnaround firms either in whole or in part have made industry headlines regularly this year — indeed, Deloitte acquired CRG Partners and CVC Capital Partners took a majority stake in AlixPartners — this announcement was a bit unique.
