LAGO, an alternative investment platform focused on the lower middle market, completed a strategic financing facility for Slate, an innovative beverage company.

“As Slate enters its next phase of expansion, it was important for us to find a financing partner that understood the opportunities and challenges that come with building a high-growth consumer brand, and LAGO’s flexible capital structure and entrepreneurial approach allowed us to create a financing solution that supported our interests and vision,” Manny Lubin, co-founder of Slate, said. “Beyond the capital itself, the LAGO team has been fantastic to work with and they have an extremely collaborative mindset and a true understanding of what it takes to build a leading brand. We’re excited to have them as a long-term partner as we continue to scale our business.”

Heather La Freniere, managing partner and COO of LAGO, added, “The fitness and functional beverage sector continues to benefit from durable, secular shifts in consumer behavior, with demand for convenient, high-quality protein products accelerating alongside the growing adoption of GLP-1 therapies. We’re excited to support Slate through this next phase of growth, as the company is well positioned to capitalize on these evolving consumption patterns, and particularly impressed by their strong product portfolio and ability to innovate within a rapidly expanding category.”
