SG Stonegate Capital made a senior debt financing investment in Mike’s Hot Honey, a food product company that creates quality honey infused with chili peppers. The debt financing will support Mike’s Hot Honey’s continued growth and innovation.

“SG Stonegate brought their creative ideas to the structuring process and ultimately delivered a unique credit facility that we are very happy with,” Matt Beaton, CEO of Mike’s Hot Honey, said. “We know that they will be an ideal financing partner as we continue to pursue our vision for the business.”

Mike Kurtz, founder of Mike’s Hot Honey, brought the idea of hot honey to Brooklyn from Brazil, where he first encountered the concept while studying abroad. The idea took off after Kurtz started an apprenticeship with Paulie Gee’s Pizzeria in Brooklyn.

“Mike’s Hot Honey is undeniably the best hot honey you’ve ever had, and they’ve experienced strong and consistent growth on a yearly basis,” Evan Waggoner, director at SG Stonegate Capital, said. “Mike’s Hot Honey is an exceptional brand, and we are very excited to be part of their story.”
