Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Ross Stallings as a managing director in its corporate transactions group (CTG). Based in Atlanta, Stallings brings more than 20 years of experience in professional services and industry roles, specializing in integrations, separations and value creation through mergers and acquisitions.
A seasoned corporate transactions counselor, Stallings has worked with clients across a multitude of industry sectors, focusing on a variety of complex transaction structures, including stock purchases, asset acquisitions, carve-out divestitures, tax-free spin-offs, initial public offerings and joint ventures ranging in enterprise value from $50M to $60B+.
Most recently serving as KPMG’s U.S. national leader in its finance strategy practice, Stallings oversaw teams addressing critical aspects of finance and accounting operations while executing global complex transactions. In this role, he deepened his exposure and value creation lens across operational diligence, pre-close planning, synergy analysis, Transaction Service Agreement negotiation and administration, functional organization design and post-close value preservation and capture.
“In the corporate transactions marketplace, demand is only rising for a unique service provider like A&M – one with operational, industry and functional expertise that sits across a globally integrated platform,” Paul Aversano, managing director and global practice leader of A&M, who leads the firm’s global transaction advisory group (TAG) and maintains oversight of CTG, said. “The corporate transactions arena is filled with opportunity as much as complexity, particularly as we look to the next year; we are scaling CTG strategically and assertively in response for clients. The investment in our position as a leader in M&A for corporate and strategic clients is unwavering, and welcoming talent like Ross onto our bench is key to that investment.”
“Ross’ appointment builds on the momentum of our recent key hires like Ginger Kelley, Joe Deegan and Lyna Sun,” Preston Parker, managing director and practice leader of CTG, said. “His broad operational background and insights will help clients navigate regulatory complexities while capitalizing on improving debt market opportunities – and bridge the gap between strategy and execution that can bolster their standing as they face both separation and integration issues.”
“A&M’s entrepreneurial culture, integrated platform, and freedom from audit conflicts create a unique foundation from which to deliver transformative value to clients,” Stallings said. “My experience working across the M&A lifecycle has shown me the interlocking benefits of operational expertise and cross-functional resources in the pursuit of achieving clients’ strategic growth and profitability goals.”
