Porter Capital, a provider of working capital solutions, added Roger S. Welker as senior vice president. With more than 35 years of experience in commercial finance, Welker brings deep expertise in factoring, asset-based lending and relationship-driven business development.

“At Porter, we build our team with seasoned leaders who share our commitment to fast, transparent financing solutions,” Marc Porter, CEO of Porter Capital, said. “Roger’s track record in helping businesses bridge cash flow gaps makes him an excellent addition as we continue to expand our national presence.”

Welker has held senior roles with several of the industry’s most recognized firms, including CIT Commercial Services, Wells Fargo Capital Finance, Merchant Financial Corp and Edge Capital. His extensive background includes establishing strong market presences throughout the Southeast and guiding clients across industries toward flexible financing options when traditional banks were unable to meet their needs.

“Businesses run on cash flow, and today more than ever, companies need speed, clarity and a partner who understands their industry,” Welker said. “Porter’s ability to quickly structure recourse / non-recourse factoring and situational ABL products to support growth, acquisitions, business transitions is unmatched. I look forward to bringing these solutions to more businesses across the region.”

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin, Madison (B.S., economics) and Emory University (MBA), Welker is an active member of the finance community, serving in leadership roles with the Secured Finance Network (past president), the Turnaround Management Association and the Association for Corporate Growth.
