Greenwich Associates presented People’s United Bank with seven awards, including a Greenwich Best Brand – Trust award, as rated by customers for its commitment to supporting small businesses across the bank’s Northeast footprint.

People’s United is the only New England-based bank to receive this honor.

Additionally, the bank was recognized with six awards for Excellence in Middle Market and Small Business Banking.

Since 2009, People’s United has received 49 Greenwich Excellence and Best Brand awards.

People’s United was one of those selected from 600 institutions evaluated in 2018 to receive recognition at both the regional and national levels in each winning award category. Its awards included:

“We’re extremely pleased to once again be recognized by Greenwich Associates, and more importantly, by our customers,” said Jack Barnes, People’s United chairman and CEO. “Providing an exceptional customer experience has been central to our mission and culture for more than 176 years. These awards are a testament to the strong customer relationships we’ve developed, and to the collective success we have achieved in helping our customers grow their businesses.”

Greenwich Associates conducted interviews with more than 14,000 middle market and 14,000 small business banking business owners and executives in the U.S. for the 2018 evaluation process. People’s United received a significantly higher percentage of “excellent” ratings when compared to the average rating of all eligible banks evaluated to earn each national and regional award.

It offers commercial and retail banking, as well as wealth management services through a network of over 400 retail locations in Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine.
