Oxford Finance, a specialty finance firm, appointed Brock Johnson to lead underwriting for its newly created asset-based lending (ABL) division. In this role, Johnson will lead the firm’s ABL credit strategy, overseeing deal structuring, credit analysis and risk management.

Johnson brings nearly 20 years of experience in commercial finance and underwriting, with a strong track record of structuring and managing complex asset-based credit facilities. Prior to joining Oxford, Johnson served as a managing director at Ares Commercial Finance, where he was a member of the investment committee and responsible for evaluating and executing ABL transactions across a range of industries.

“We’re excited to welcome Brock to the Oxford team,” Kevin Harbour, managing director at Oxford, said. “His deep underwriting expertise and disciplined credit approach will be instrumental as we continue to scale our platform and support a broader range of borrowers.”

Oxford’s expansion into traditional ABL is part of a broader strategy to diversify its product offerings.

“I’m thrilled to join Oxford at such a pivotal time,” Johnson said. “Oxford has built a strong reputation for delivering customer-focused, creative and reliable financing. I look forward to helping grow the ABL platform and supporting our clients with thoughtful, customized credit solutions.”
