Moritt Hock & Hamroff, a New York headquartered commercial law firm, added attorneys Susan J. Coleman and Michael Kwiatkowski as counsel in the firm’s Garden City office. Coleman joins Moritt Hock & Hamroff’s litigation and real estate practice while Kwiatkowski joins the firm’s creditors’ rights, restructuring and bankruptcy practice.

Coleman joins the firm with a strong background in litigation, municipal law and land use, having previously served as town attorney for Huntington, New York. In this role, Coleman represented the township in litigation before various courts on matters involving local and state laws and regulations, including zoning and land use, tax assessments and code enforcement. She also advised the town’s boards and agencies on its contracts, agreements and insurance policies.  Prior to taking the role as town attorney, she was an accomplished state court litigator.

Kwiatkowski has extensive experience in bankruptcy-related litigation and business reorganizations. Previously an attorney at a midsize law firm in New York, Kwiatkowski represented and advised creditors in all aspects of bankruptcy and restructuring matters. He also has extensive experience in representing financial institutions in workouts, foreclosures and commercial litigation matters. He works with lending clients to create strategies tailored to meet their business objectives and maximize recovery in connection with distressed loans.

“We are pleased to welcome Susan and Michael to our growing bench of talent,” Michael Cardello III, managing partner at Moritt Hock & Hamroff, said. “As today’s business landscape is increasingly driven by economic uncertainty, delivering trusted counsel has never been more critical. The deep expertise that Susan and Michael bring to the firm ensures our clients are well-equipped to navigate these challenges with confidence.”

This announcement follows Moritt Hock & Hamroff’s recent expansion in South Florida with the addition of several attorneys from the Fort Lauderdale boutique firm Saavedra Goodwin, who focus on business litigation, real estate and corporate law.

“The addition of Susan and Michael is further evidence of the high caliber of professionals that Moritt Hock & Hamroff is attracting and reflects our continued commitment to serve our clients across diverse geographies and practice areas,” Marc Hamroff, chairman at Moritt Hock & Hamroff.
