Obra Capital, a specialized alternative asset management firm, added Colleen Kilfoyle as chief compliance officer. She will join Obra’s senior management team and will report directly to Stephen Kirkwood, Obra’s chief legal officer.

Kilfoyle joins Obra from Sculptor Capital Management, where she spent over a decade directing compliance, legal and regulatory functions for the $37 billion alternative asset manager, most recently as executive managing director and partner, chief compliance officer, chief litigation and regulatory counsel. During her tenure at Sculptor, Kilfoyle worked closely with several members of Obra’s current leadership team, including CEO Blair Wallace. In her new role, Kilfoyle will lead Obra’s regulatory strategy, steering the firm through an increasingly complex compliance landscape. Her mandate includes enhancing the firm’s compliance monitoring infrastructure and technology capabilities, building out the compliance team to support Obra’s continued growth and reinforcing the firm’s commitment to investors and counterparties.

“As Obra broadens its platform and extends into new strategies, products and geographies, having a premier compliance program is a strategic focus,” Wallace said. “Colleen brings a stellar track record and valuable insights that will be critical as we drive our growth strategy forward. We are pleased to be working together again, and we welcome her to the Obra team.”

Kilfoyle added, “I am excited to join Obra at such a pivotal moment in its evolution. The firm has built a compelling and differentiated platform, and I look forward to working closely with the leadership team to ensure that our compliance program is not only rigorous and current, but also a competitive advantage as we pursue new opportunities for our investors.”

In addition to her compliance leadership role at Sculptor, Kilfoyle spent seven years overseeing all firm and fund litigation, enforcement matters and regulatory inquiries. Earlier in her career, she practiced as a litigation associate at Dickstein Shapiro and Bingham McCutchen.

Kilfoyle earned her B.A. in history from Boston College and received her J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
