JPalmer Collective (JPC), an asset-based lending firm committed to funding high-growth, women-led, and natural products companies, provided a $5 million working capital financing agreement with isima, a Latin-rooted, science-powered haircare brand founded by Shakira.
The $5 million financing will fuel isima’s growth and support working capital as the brand scales its presence in the premium personal care market.
“The beauty and personal care space is one we know well, and one where we see enormous opportunity for brands that are doing something authentic and truly different, like isima,” Jennifer Palmer, founder and CEO of JPC, said. “The brand was born out of Shakira’s own experience with curly hair, and they’re intentionally bringing serious science to hair types and textures that mainstream haircare has overlooked. We built JPalmer Collective on the belief that women founders deserve access to capital that allows them to grow to their fullest potential, and this partnership is a direct reflection of that commitment.”
Sid Katari, co-founder and CEO of isima, added, “From the start, JPC understood our vision and market potential. We knew they were the right partner for us. Access to the right capital at the right time is everything for an early-stage brand like isima. This funding gives us the runway to scale with intention, meet the momentum we’re already seeing in the market, and get our products into the hands of more people whose needs have not been understood by the haircare industry for too long.”
