Holland & Knight is continuing its strategic growth in Boston with the addition of Fred David, previously from Akin Gump, as a partner in its financial services practice. David advises private credit funds, private equity sponsors and their portfolio companies and other financial institutions on a wide range of debt financing transactions, with an emphasis on advising private credit funds in connection with complex sponsor-backed acquisition financings and complex private credit transactions.

“Fred represents a compelling opportunity to strengthen our financial services offerings at a time of sustained growth in private credit and sponsor-driven financing,” Cindy Brazell, leader of the firm’s financial services section, said. “His addition deepens our Boston bench, provides critical support to our leading private equity practice and enhances the firm’s ability to execute on high-value financing transactions.”

David has experience on both sides of the financing table in large-cap and middle-market financing and restructuring transactions. He advises clients throughout the investment life cycle on cash flow and asset-based financings, complex liability management transactions, restructurings and other special situations.

“I am thrilled to join Holland & Knight and work with this exceptional team to help expand the firm’s private credit and sponsor finance capabilities and contribute to the firm’s continued strategic expansion in Boston,” David said. “The firm’s national platform and broad transactional capabilities will allow me to provide practical, sophisticated counsel to my private credit and private equity sponsor clients on sophisticated financing transactions at every stage of the investment life cycle.”

David received his J.D. degree from the University of Virginia School of Law and B.A. degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
