Hedaya Capital Supports Strategic Growth Plans at Apparel Company Startup

The facility will provide the working capital needed to support expansion initiatives and accelerate revenue growth.

The Hedaya Capital Group recently provided a $1 million factoring facility to a New York-based apparel company specializing in the import and distribution of branded men’s underwear. The facility will provide the working capital needed to support expansion initiatives and accelerate revenue growth.

The principal is a 20-year veteran of the apparel and consumer products industry, and the company has been able to leverage a strong foundation of supplier relationships in China. With a growing portfolio of licensed products sold through off-price and value retailers including Walmart.com, Ross Stores, Macy’s Backstage and Bealls, factoring initially funded the first year of operations. When year one sales volume fell short of projections due to tariffs, the incumbent lender decided to exit the relationship.

Recognizing the strength of the underlying business and its market opportunity, the incumbent factor reached out to Lou Barone, senior advisor at The Hedaya Capital Group. Leveraging decades of apparel industry experience, Barone and his team quickly completed due diligence and structured a $1 million factoring facility tailored to the company’s needs.

“We believe the company is exceptionally well-positioned for sustained growth,” Barone said. “Its experienced management, strong supplier network, established retail relationships and expanding product portfolio create a compelling platform for future success. We plan to grow our facility as the company’s sales volumes grow.”

The new facility provides the certainty and liquidity necessary to support larger order volumes and expand the company’s sales organization. With the additional resources in place, management plans to add sales representatives, deepen retail relationships and pursue new market opportunities.

As the company continues to execute its growth strategy, management projects U.S. revenue will reach between $3 million and $5 million in 2026, driven by expanded sales efforts and increasing market penetration.

“Joining The Hedaya Capital Group has been a great experience and, in many ways, has felt like a homecoming,” the company’s founder said. “The onboarding process was seamless from start to finish. I came up in the consumer products world alongside Lou Barrone and Hedaya principals Ezra, Alfred and Jack as they were establishing Hedaya Capital, so having the opportunity to work together now brings things full circle. When we found ourselves in a crunch, they stepped up without hesitation, and they have continued to be helpful, thoughtful and approachable — exactly the kind of partners you want beside you when it matters most.”
