Great Rock Capital, an asset-focused commercial finance company specializing in middle market lending, added Jake Goldberg a managing director of originations. Goldberg will be responsible for expanding the firm’s private equity coverage in the New York metro area and covering deal referral sources across the New England region. Stephen Shelton, managing director of originations, will continue covering ABL lenders, investment bankers, and advisors in the New York Metro area, as well as all deal referral sources in Philadelphia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Jake to the team,” Stuart Armstrong, CEO of Great Rock Capital, said. “His strong network of private equity relationships, coupled with his capital markets expertise, will elevate our ongoing growth in this important market.”

Goldberg joins Great Rock with almost 15 years of experience in middle market lending. Most recently, as an executive director at J.P. Morgan, he led the capital markets efforts in asset-based lending where he specialized in structuring and syndicating asset-based transactions for public, private and sponsor-owned businesses. Goldberg earned a B.A. in economics from New York University and is in the executive M.B.A. program at Yale University.

“I am excited to join the Great Rock team and broaden their success across the Northeast region,” Goldberg said. “I look forward to leveraging my private equity and capital markets relationships to help middle market companies in this region benefit from the liquidity and growth capital provided by the firm’s innovative financing structures.”

“Jake is an excellent addition to our originations team, and I am eager to expand our sponsor coverage across the Northeast,” Jim Clifton, CCO of Great Rock Capital, said. “Our Originations team has played a key role in achieving record growth this year and I look forward to further expanding our impact in the months ahead.”
