Webster Bank announced that Michael Gebicki joined as Senior Managing Director, Sponsor Finance.

In his role, Mr. Gebicki will originate and execute middle market private equity backed transactions for Webster Bank’s Sponsor Finance General Industries team. He will be based in Stamford, Conn., and reports to Ross Catlin, Senior Managing Director, Sponsor Finance, Webster Bank.

“We are delighted to welcome Mike to the Webster team,” said Andre Paquette, Executive Managing Director of Sponsor & Specialty Finance Group, Webster Bank. “Mike’s deep expertise in Middle Market Sponsor Finance, combined with his proven track record in originations and deal execution, will be instrumental as we expand our Generalist Leveraged Finance platform.”

Gebicki has over 30 years of experience in origination, underwriting, and capital raising. Most recently he was a Managing Director at Sentinel Capital Partners, where he ran principal investing for the firm’s junior capital business. Prior to that, he was a founding member of Bank of Ireland U.S. Leveraged Finance group, where he originated senior and junior financings for private equity clients. He began his career at JP Morgan Securities’ Media, Technology & Telecom group where he was involved with various capital raising and advisory mandates.

Mike graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Finance and Economics and he earned his MBA from the NYU’s Stern School of Business.
