eCapital, a tech-enabled specialty finance provider for small and medium-sized businesses across North America and the United Kingdom, appointed Estevan Ruiz as head of credit and risk for its transportation division. Ruiz, a seasoned finance professional in commercial and transportation finance, will oversee credit and risk management to support the division’s growth under the leadership of Melissa Forman-Barenblit, president, head of transportation group.

“Transportation finance requires deep expertise and the ability to structure solutions that meet the unique needs of carriers, brokers, and operators of all sizes,” Forman-Barenblit said. “With eCapital’s incredible depth of resources and experience, we’re able to deliver funding solutions that give clients more flexibility and confidence in today’s market. Estevan brings a caliber of leadership that will elevate our credit and risk function and strengthen our ability to deliver on that promise.”

Ruiz brings over a decade of experience in credit and portfolio management, specializing in transportation finance. Prior to joining eCapital, he held senior roles in the factoring and payments divisions at Triumph Financial, including vice president of credit and underwriting, where he led credit operations, managed risk, and supported capital access for brokers and carrier solutions across the transportation industry. Most recently, he helped lead Payments Network efforts at Triumph, collaborating with factors and brokers to enhance their workflows and drive greater industry efficiency. Known for his collaborative style and disciplined approach, Ruiz is recognized for balancing rigorous risk oversight with a client-first mindset, driving both stability and growth.

“I’ve watched eCapital make a real impact and establish itself as a leader in the market,” Ruiz said. “I’m excited to be on the frontlines of that effort, working with Melissa again and leading the credit and risk function to support clients with the strength, expertise and flexibility eCapital is known for.”
