Thompson Street Capital Partners (TSCP), a private equity firm based in St. Louis, MO, and portfolio company, PestCo Holdings, acquired the assets of Romney Pest Control and Phenom Pest Protection. Romney is a residential pest control provider operating throughout Texas with branch locations in Dallas-Fort Worth, San Antonio and Houston. Its sister company, Phenom, provides similar residential pest control services throughout Maryland. With the backing of PestCo’s team and resources, Romney and Phenom are positioned for future growth, while continuing to provide high-quality service to customers. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

This is the ninth investment for PestCo, an acquisition company formed to consolidate the highly fragmented pest control industry.

“Romney and Phenom are well-managed, high-quality businesses with an excellent track record of growth,” Jay Keating, CEO of PestCo, said. “We look forward to working closely with the local teams to grow these operations and our footprint in Texas and Maryland.”

“We are thrilled to partner and grow with the Romney and Phenom teams, who both share PestCo’s core value of creating customer loyalty through service excellence,” David LeResche, president and COO of PestCo, said.

“Romney and Phenom have always prioritized our employees and providing quality pest control services to our customers,” Greg Romney, owner of Romney and co-owner of Phenom, said. “Partnering with PestCo and TSCP will drive continued growth and provide more opportunities for our team while continuing to offer top-tier service to our customers.”

“We look forward to partnering with the teams at PestCo and TSCP to continue to offer our quality service and enhance our growth opportunities,” Brandon Jamison, co-owner of Phenom, said.

“Thompson Street is excited to partner with quality businesses offering significant scale and expertise in single family residential pest control through its acquisition of Romney and Phenom, while continuing to expand PestCo’s presence in Texas and Maryland,” Jeff Aiello, managing director at TSCP, said.

Paul Giannamore and Franco Villanueva-Meyer of The Potomac Company represented and acted as the exclusive financial advisors to Romney Pest Control and Phenom Pest Protection in this transaction.
