Cole-Frieman & Mallon, an investment management law firm, added Kevin Leiske to the firm as a partner. Leiske brings almost two decades of experience advising hedge funds, private equity funds, venture capital funds and other asset managers on a wide range of legal, regulatory and operational matters. His practice focuses on taxation issues related to fund formation and structuring, as well as advising on complex transactions. He also provides advice to companies and individuals involving the taxation of cryptocurrency and digital assets.

Prior to joining Cole-Frieman & Mallon, Leiske practiced at prominent law firms and financial services companies such as Shartsis Friese, Deloitte and Gunderson Dettmer, in New York, London, Austin and the San Francisco Bay Area. Leiske was also an adjunct professor at the University of Texas Law School.

“We are thrilled to welcome Kevin to the partnership,” Karl Cole-Frieman, managing partner of Cole-Frieman & Mallon, said. “Kevin’s deep industry knowledge and experience advising sophisticated fund managers with cryptocurrency and digital assets complements our team’s strengths and supports our continued commitment to providing best-in-class legal counsel to our clients.”

“We plan to build out the nation’s leading tax practice for investors in cryptocurrency and digital assets,” Bart Mallon, managing partner of the firm, said.
