Citizens Capital Markets & Advisory added Matt Rheault and Jeff Jones as managing directors within its debt capital markets practice.
Rheault has been named head of syndicate and Jones will lead the firm’s asset-backed securities (ABS) and collateralized loan obligation (CLO) capital markets efforts. Based in Charlotte, the pair join Citizens from Wells Fargo and bring more than four decades of combined experience to their new roles. They will report to Jerry Hullinger, head of debt capital markets.
The additions expand Citizens’ capabilities across origination, syndication and structured products at a time when clients are seeking financing and distribution solutions across an increasingly diverse range of markets and asset classes.
“Matt and Jeff are highly respected leaders with deep expertise in the credit markets,” Hullinger said. “Their experience advising issuers and investors across a range of market environments will further strengthen our ability to deliver innovative solutions for clients.”
Prior to joining Citizens, Rheault served as co-head of leveraged debt capital markets for Wells Fargo Corporate & Investment Banking. He brings experience in originating, structuring, distributing and managing risk for non-investment-grade public, private and sponsor-backed companies. Earlier in his career, he held roles within the leveraged finance and leveraged acquisition finance groups at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Jones joins Citizens after 19 years at Wells Fargo, where he played a key role in the growth of the firm’s structured products group. Throughout his career, he has worked across fixed income markets, syndication, distribution and client relationship management. He previously held positions at Bank of America and First Citizens Bank.
