Briar Capital Real Estate Fund, a leading provider of asset-based real estate lending solutions, is pleased to announce the promotion of Susan Holliday to Chief Operating Officer. With over 35 years of experience in asset-based lending, Susan has demonstrated exceptional leadership, operational expertise, and a deep understanding of the industry.

Having been a valuable member of the Briar Capital team since 2013, Susan’s expertise spans a wide range of roles, including most recently as Chief Credit Officer and Portfolio Manager where she was instrumental in shaping the company’s credit strategies and overseeing its lending portfolio.

Frank Goldberg, Chairman of Briar Capital, commented, “Sue has been an indispensable asset to our team since the day she joined Briar Capital. Her wealth of experience and leadership abilities have helped us navigate numerous challenges and capitalize on growth opportunities. This promotion is a testament to her hard work, dedication, and the remarkable contributions she has made to the firm.”

“Since joining our team 12 years ago, the impact Sue has had on our entire organization and staff is immeasurable,” said Jeff Van Sickle, Briar Capital’s President. “She has a remarkable ability to process information quickly and address complex situations like only a limited few can do in our business.”

As COO, Susan will oversee Briar Capital’s day-to-day operations and play a pivotal role in shaping the firm’s strategic direction, while continuing to oversee credit decisions on Briar’s portfolio. Her proven track record in managing high-performing teams and breadth of experience in the asset-based lending space position her to continue driving the company’s commitment to excellence.

Briar Capital provides owner-occupied real estate loans nationwide up to $15MM and is a trusted lending partner to both the asset based and banking communities.
