BlackArch Partners, a middle-market investment bank, hired Clay Bryan as managing director. Bryan has more than 23 years of M&A and leveraged finance execution and sponsor coverage experience across a variety of industries. Bryan, who began his career in the M&A and then financial sponsors groups at Citigroup and Deutsche Bank, respectively, has spent the last 16 years in Los Angeles focused on the middle market.

“We are thrilled to have Clay join the team,” Ian Mackay, sponsor coverage managing director at BlackArch, said. “Clay’s long-standing relationships within the private equity community and decades of advisory experience will be invaluable to the firm.”

Prior to joining BlackArch, Bryan lead the sponsor coverage practice for B. Riley Securities. He previously founded and grew the function at FocalPoint Securities prior to that firm’s acquisition by B. Riley in early 2022. Bryan was also a managing director at Cappello Global, where he advised on M&A, private placement and special situation mandates for a range of clients across multiple industry sectors before joining FocalPoint in 2019.

Bryan earned a bachelor of business administration degree in finance and economics from Georgia State University. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two children and is active in the community through his involvement with the Water Buffalo Club, a charitable organization dedicated to fostering the well-being of underserved and at-risk children in Los Angeles.
