Bitterman to Lead SierraConstellation New York Office

SierraConstellation Partners is opening an office in New York City led by industry veteran David Bitterman as managing director.

Bitterman joins SCP from Huron Consulting Group, where he worked for more than a decade, most recently in the role of head of Business Development. Prior to that, Bitterman spent nearly 20 years in investment banking at Deutsche Bank, Bear Stearns and Bank of America.

With the addition of the New York office, a major strategic priority, SCP adds its sixth physical location, which already includes offices is Los Angeles, Boston, Dallas, Houston and Seattle, consistent with its expansion plans in key financial markets across the country. SCP’s headquarters will remain in Los Angeles.

“This is a major milestone for our firm as we expand our presence as a national firm,” said SCP Founder and CEO Larry Perkins. “We’ve anticipated the establishment of a New York office for some time. While New York is an important market in and of itself, the decision-making and senior leadership centralized in New York really influence the entire country. It is the center of the deal universe. David is a tried and tested finance veteran, and his deep relationships in our community make him the perfect person to spearhead this for our firm. I’d like to welcome David and the whole team to SCP, and I can’t wait to see all the great things they’ll do.”

SCP’s New York office opening comes amid a sustained run of growth for the firm across the country. Since the start of 2019, the firm has grown its headcount by around 50 percent, including the hiring of Basil Karampelas to head the firm’s Houston office, private equity veteran Carl Moore as a managing director in Dallas, and Rebecca Waits as chief people officer.
