Big Shoulders Capital and Iroquois Industrial Group Acquire MOD Interiors

The joint venture of Big Shoulders Capital and Iroquois Industrial Group completed the acquisition of MOD Interiors, an architectural millwork, design and engineering firm. Since 1982, MOD has created interior spaces of all kinds, including corporate headquarters, high-end restaurants, hotels, stadiums, universities and residential.

Big Shoulders and Iroquois also jointly own Benda Conveyor Solutions and Savannah Industrial Solutions, which does metalwork, stonework, woodwork and has finishing capabilities including its recently installed powder coating line.

“By bringing MOD Interiors and Savannah Industrial Solutions into partnership, each firm will be able to bid on and execute larger portions of projects than they’d be able to individually,” Brian Schroeder, vice president of equity investments at Big Shoulders Capital, said. “MOD will be able to utilize the metalwork, stonework and high-volume woodworking capabilities of Savannah, and Savannah will enjoy the high-end millworking capabilities MOD Interiors is known for.”

“Both companies will have more control over completion timelines, and will benefit from increased access to talent and expertise on technical and design software,” Shane Dittrich, CEO of Iroquois Industrial Group, said.

MOD Interiors, based in Michigan, will continue to operate independently and no jobs will be lost as a result of the purchase, according to BSC and IIG.

BSC and IIG were represented by Henry Merens and Erich Buck of Adelman & Gettleman and Old Second Bancorp financed the acquisition. Joe Alam of Mid States Advisors served as investment banker to the seller.
