For the tenth year, B. Riley FBR presented the annual “Big Fighters, Big Cause” Charity Boxing Night on Wednesday, May 22 at The Beverly Hilton Hotel. The event raised over $500,000 to benefit the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation’s mission to fund life-changing research, care and awareness for pediatric type 1 and 2 diabetes.

The boxing night was presented during B. Riley FBR’s 20th Annual Institutional Investor Conference, a two-day investment and networking event which brings together public and private companies with institutional investors, high-net worth individuals, and corporate clients, as well as select members of the press.

Actor and comedian Bill Bellamy hosted the exclusive event which featured first-class entertainment, a National Anthem performance by Pia Toscano, four live fights presented by Golden Boy and a live and silent auction display featuring iconic memorabilia and one-of-a-kind items and experiences. Among the celebrity guests in attendance, the Foundation welcomed Sugar Ray Leonard and Bernadette Leonard, Michael Buffer, Tommy Chong, Curtis Conway, Cindy Crawford, Tommy Davidson, Rande Gerber, Johnny Gill, Taraji P. Henson, Sophia Hutchins, LL Cool J, Caitlyn Jenner, Magic Johnson, Tina Knowles, Dolph Lundgren, Judge Mathis, Sergio Mora, Eddie Murphy, Terry Norris, Rodney Peete, Smokey Robinson, Holly Robinson Peete, Mia St. John, Chris Spencer, Eric Tozer, and Usher.

The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation was established in 2009 by boxing legend and six-time world champion Sugar Ray Leonard and his wife, Bernadette. The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation is committed to funding research and care for pediatric type 1 and 2 diabetes and creates awareness for both diseases. The Foundation also strives to help children live healthier lives through diet and exercise.

B. Riley FBR is an investment bank which provides corporate finance, research and sales and trading to corporate, institutional and high net worth individual clients. Investment banking services include initial, secondary and follow-on offerings, institutional private placements and merger and acquisitions advisory services, and corporate restructuring.
