Ankura Bolsters Financial Services Advisory Capabilities with Several Key Hires

Ankura Consulting Group, a global expert services and advisory firm, expanded its financial services practice with the addition of several key senior leaders, including Jonathan Berry, Jordan Kuperschmid, Peter Pearlman, Brad Schaltenbrand and Christopher Sicuranza.

Ankura Consulting Group, a global expert services and advisory firm, expanded its financial services practice with the addition of several key senior leaders, including Jonathan Berry, Jordan Kuperschmid, Peter Pearlman, Brad Schaltenbrand and Christopher Sicuranza. These professionals bring decades of invaluable experience to Ankura and further enhance the firm’s capabilities to provide tailored solutions for a wide range of clients. Their collective experience across financial services includes work with eight of the top 10 banks, seven of the top 10 insurers and many of the largest fintechs, asset managers and private credit institutions in the U.S., tackling their most critical challenges related to mergers and acquisitions, organization architecture, data and technology, cost optimization and risk management.

“This strategic expansion reflects our commitment to providing comprehensive, integrated financial services solutions globally to help our clients navigate and thrive in today’s dynamic and competitive marketplace, and we are excited to welcome Jonathan, Jordan, Peter, Brad and Christopher to the team,” Mary Beth Edwards, senior managing director and global leader of the disputes and economics business at Ankura, said.

Berry, a senior managing director based in Boston, has more than 25 years of experience assisting banks, insurers and asset management companies. He specializes in complex business and technology transformation efforts, helping clients enhance organizational effectiveness, increase profitability and develop sound compliance and risk management strategies.

Kuperschmid, a senior managing director based in New York, brings more than 35 years of experience in insurance and reinsurance, with a focus on remediation and transformation. He brings expertise in operations, risk, technology and data management.

Pearlman is a managing director at Ankura based in New York. He brings more than 35 years of experience working in the financial services industry, focusing on the life insurance sector. He has deep experience across the insurance operational lifecycle in areas including marketing and sales, client onboarding, billing and collections, claim adjudication, contact center and account maintenance. He specializes in business strategy and transformation, remediations, reconciliations and compliance and sourcing and third-party risk.

Schaltenbrand, a senior managing director based in Washington, DC, brings more than 20 years of experience working with banks, non-bank financial institutions, financial technology companies, insurance providers and government agencies. He specializes in risk management, consumer finance compliance, issue remediation, data analytics and business transformation and has successfully led complex advisory and digital services engagements with high-performing teams internationally.

Sicuranza, a senior managing director based in Washington, DC, brings more than 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. He has advised leading banking, consumer finance and financial technology organizations through times of distress and specializes in optimizing technology, personnel and data to enhance profitability, minimize risk and address regulatory challenges. He is a proven leader adept at managing large, complex projects in business transformation, risk management and operational effectiveness, having led global teams of over 350 professionals.
