Matt Heintz, former Head of North America at J.P. Morgan Global Insurance Solutions, joined Angelo Gordon, a $52 billion alternative investment firm focused on credit and real estate investing, as managing director and head of insurance in the client partnership group. In this new role, Heintz will be leading the expansion of Angelo Gordon’s focus on investment management solutions for the insurance sector.

Heintz reports to Angelo Gordon’s global head of client partnership group, Alan Isenberg. Isenberg joined the firm in April to lead its global client and product functions, including new business development, client coverage, product development and management and client service.

“Matt has built numerous trusted partnerships with allocators in the insurance space, who deeply appreciate his product acumen and solutions orientation,” Isenberg said. “His impressive, multi-decade track record is a testament to his focus, integrity and industry knowledge. We look forward to his leadership in deepening engagement with current and prospective Angelo Gordon LPs.”

“I’m excited to join a firm like Angelo Gordon that has in its culture such a strong alignment with clients and is so focused on research, investment performance and client service,” Heintz said. “I look forward to working with the team to bring differentiated sources of capital efficient return and income to insurance clients utilizing the firm’s robust private market capabilities across real estate and credit.”

Heintz was most recently managing director, head of North America at J.P. Morgan Global Insurance Solutions, a division of J.P. Morgan Asset Management, specializing in managing the assets of insurance companies across the full spectrum of traditional and alternative asset classes. Previously, he was a managing director and partner at Cardinal Investment Advisors, where he was an investment consultant to multiple insurance companies. He started his career at Edward Jones Investments.
