Ameris Bank has been named to Forbes’ list of America’s Best Banks for 2026, ranking No. 15, up from No. 26 in 2025. The company is also the largest bank by assets among those in the top 15.

“We are honored to be named a top bank, and this recognition reflects our team’s commitment to providing high-quality financial services while delivering an exceptional customer experience,” said Palmer Proctor, CEO of Ameris Bank. “Our size and scale give us the range to care for individuals and families opening their first accounts to complex corporations with multiple financial needs — all with expertise and personal attention.”

Forbes’ 17th annual list evaluates the top 200 publicly traded banks in the U.S., ranking the top 100 based on 11 metrics including growth, credit quality, profitability and stock performance over the past year. Ameris Bank stood out for its performance across these measures.
