Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal (A&M) appointed Kevin Davidson as a senior director within its healthcare industry group. In his new role, Davidson will help advance the human capital and workforce management practice’s growth strategy in support of clients across the healthcare ecosystem including hospitals and health systems, payers and private equity-owned healthcare organizations. His joining highlights A&M’s commitment to advising clients on solving workforce issues that continue to challenge healthcare organizations’ operational performance, growth and profitability.

With more than 18 years of industry experience, Davidson specializes in healthcare workforce optimization and management, focusing on productivity benchmarking analytics, human resource information system (HRIS)/IT optimization and organization design. Additionally, he has significant expertise with managing specialized system transformations, patient flow process standardizations and technology enablement exercises.

“Kevin’s appointment demonstrates A&M’s ability to spot market needs and quickly implement senior talent investments alongside a range of scalable offerings, which address those needs,” Martin McGahan, head of A&M’s healthcare industry group, said. “The team’s combined expertise, coupled with A&M’s integrated platform allows us to help healthcare clients thrive against a backdrop of economic volatility, profitability pressures and a shifting regulatory landscape.”

Davidson’s notable engagements include:

  • Managing merger and integration efforts for a major university provider organization and its recently acquired community health system.
  • Leading cost optimization efforts resulting in a $100 million savings through staffing efficiencies, outsourcing and contract optimization for a national telehealth provider.
  • Supporting financial improvement projects through workforce optimization at safety net, academic and children’s specialty hospitals and health systems.

“A&M is known for delivering forward thinking approaches and solutions to the human capital issues facing healthcare organizations,” Bianca A. Briola, managing director and leader of the human capital and workforce management practice, said. “Clients count on our holistic view on workforce planning and strategic partnership experience to take them to the next level. Kevin’s robust background and healthcare IT knowledge will bring value to organizations seeking bespoke solutions to address their current issues and anticipate future challenges.”

Prior to joining A&M, Davidson focused on creating novel solutions and strategies for workforce management. He earned a bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration from Appalachian State University and an MBA from the Darla More School of Business at the University of South Carolina.
