Alvarez & Marsal (A&M), a global professional services firm, appointed Otávio Bachir as managing director to lead the expansion of its global valuation services (GVS) advisory practice in Brazil and other countries in Latam.

With more than 20 years of experience helping private equity managers address valuation complexities across multiple industries, Bachir advises on intangible assets, value-based management, strategic decision modeling, M&A and capital attraction projects. Having previously served with EY’s US and Brazil Valuation practices, he is recognized for creatively navigating strategic corporate challenges, including restructurings, as well as issuing project feasibility studies, public offerings reports and fairness opinions, under both International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Bachir’s wide-ranging industry experience includes technology, media and telecommunications, education, oil and gas, energy, mining and metals, packaging and aviation.

Bachir holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from UNICAMP (State University of Campinas) and a master’s degree in administration from FGV (Fundação Getúlio Vargas).
