New York, NY – April 10, 2025 – Global professional services firm Alvarez & Marsal‘s (A&M) Global Transaction Advisory Group (Global TAG) and Corporate Transactions Group (CTG) are proud to announce the appointment of Mark Copeland as Managing Director, Global Transactions & Key Accounts in a crossover role that will extend the firm’s expertise across both private equity and corporate transactions globally. In addition to Mr. Copeland, A&M proudly welcomes former Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) member, Marc Siegel, as a Senior Advisor to both Global TAG and CTG.

Mr. Copeland, who brings more than two decades of global deals experience, previously served as the US-West Managing Partner for Strategy and Transactions at EY, among other prior leadership roles in strategy and operations during his tenure. A seasoned practice leader and advisor, Copeland is a sought-after counselor to private equity firms and corporate clients on complex, cross-border transactions, integrations, and divestitures across multiple sectors. In his role, Copeland will work in tandem with both Global TAG and CTG leadership to deepen the firm’s collaborative efforts across global key accounts and transaction lifecycles and will further cultivate A&M’s solutions for clients as they navigate increasingly volatile market conditions.

Mr. Siegel, who formerly served as a partner at EY and PwC, respectively, as well as a former member of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) in addition to FASB, is a leading advisor on corporate reporting and has set both financial and sustainability reporting standards that have been followed around the world. In his role as Senior Advisor to both Global TAG and CTG, Siegel will join as a member of the practices’ joint global senior advisory board, which works directly with each practice’s leadership team to advance their development and growth strategies.

A&M Managing Director and Global Transaction Advisory Group Practice Leader, Paul Aversano, who also oversees CTG, commented, “Nearly 20 years ago, we built Global TAG as a solution to client demand in the private equity space; we then saw a market need for corporate clients – and built and continue to scale an integrated end-to-end M&A solution. Today, clients face a particularly uncertain and volatile M&A environment, but Global TAG and CTG are at the forefront to help clients navigate both its complexity and opportunity. A&M already stands apart with our operational, industry, and functional expertise across a globally integrated platform – bringing global market authority like Mark Copeland’s and unrivaled senior counsel like Marc Siegel’s into our ranks allows us even more firepower to bring value creation to clients, no matter the market conditions.”

Mr. Copeland added, “Today’s market demands the ability to both strategize for and execute value creation across the transaction lifecycle. A&M’s global footprint, integrated platform, and restructuring heritage gives Global TAG and CTG the foundation to deliver the bespoke solutions that clients demand and expect.”

Mr. Siegel said, “Global TAG and CTG are perfectly positioned to serve the arc of clients’ needs – from strategy to execution. In today’s volatile environment, our ability to navigate complexities and course correct for value creation is paramount. Our teams, including Environmental, Technical & Sustainability Services (ETS), help clients focus in and amplify those factors which are embedded in valuation.”
