Archway Commits More Than $200MM in Capital in First Year

The national direct lending firm marks first anniversary by supporting middle-market companies through growth, acquisitions, refinancing and complex situations.

Archway, a national direct lending firm providing flexible capital solutions to middle-market companies, committed more than $200 million in capital during its first year of operation.

Founded to bring greater speed, creativity and partnership to middle-market finance, Archway has spent its first year helping business owners, leadership teams and financial sponsors access capital designed around their strategic goals.

The more than $200 million committed since launch has supported companies pursuing acquisitions, funding growth, increasing working capital, refinancing existing obligations, recapitalizing their businesses and navigating complex situations.

“A lot can change in a year, especially for a business that has the right capital at the right time,” Andrew S. McGhee, founder and CEO of Archway, said. “We did not build Archway simply to deploy capital. We built it to help leadership teams move when an opportunity is in front of them. The $200 million is an important milestone for us, but what matters most is what those companies are now positioned to do next.”

Neal Mulford, chief risk officer of Archway, added, “The companies we work with are often at an important inflection point. They may be pursuing an acquisition, responding to growth, restructuring their balance sheet, or simply needing more flexibility to execute their strategy. Our role is to understand where they are trying to go and help build a capital solution that supports that next step.”

Archway was founded by an experienced leadership team with deep backgrounds in asset-based lending, private credit, specialty finance, underwriting, credit and operations. During its first year, the firm also expanded its origination, underwriting and portfolio management capabilities to support continued growth and transaction activity.

“As we enter our second year, our focus remains the same,” McGhee said. “Listen carefully, respond quickly, structure creatively and be the kind of financial partner that helps companies move forward with confidence.”
