Squire Patton Boggs hired corporate lawyer Philip lee as a partner in its global corporate practice group in Singapore. Lee was previously Asia regional head of DLA Piper’s financial services sector, head of capital markets Asia Pacific and regional lead for the Indian practice. He joins with a team of three lawyers: of counsel Andhari Sidharta, senior associate Le Jing Ong and associate Suneha Kasal.

“Philip is widely recognized as a leading corporate lawyer in Singapore, having advised on some of the most significant, innovative and first-of-a-kind deals across Asia Pacific. He also brings with him deep relationships with both high-growth and established regional clients across the Asia Pacific,” Stephen Chelberg, Asia Pacific chair of the corporate practice, said. “Philip and his team will help us continue to grow our practice in the region and globally.”

An English, New York and Australian qualified corporate partner, Lee has over 20 years’ experience in public and private mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, capital markets (debt and equity), complex restructuring, structured financing, venture capital and private equity. He focuses on financial services, sustainability and ESG, projects, with expertise in the energy and resources (traditional and renewables), consumer and healthcare, technology (including fintech and biotech), media and telecommunication, real estate, infrastructure and construction industries. He also has particular expertise leading market access teams in obtaining licensing, landing rights and spectrum rights for telecommunication, satellite, broadband and ESIM services in markets throughout the Asia Pacific and South Asia regions.

“We are excited to welcome a lawyer of Philip’s calibre to our team,” Barry Stimpson, managing partner of the Singapore office, said. “In addition to his corporate pedigree, Philip’s experience is complementary to many of our industry groups and his wide-ranging capabilities and extensive connections will help create new opportunities for those teams.”

Lee said, “What drew me to Squire Patton Boggs is its global corporate capabilities and deep strength in technology and telecommunication, energy, life science and financial services, providing a strong foundation for my practice strategy of supporting clients on complex, cross-border matters across Asia Pacific in today’s world defined by change and innovation. I am genuinely excited to join a high‑performing, multidisciplinary and client-focused team in Singapore and across the region. I care deeply about working in a way that is authentic, collaborative and anchored in excellence, and I am looking forward to building strong relationships with my new colleagues as we work together to support clients with their market entry, capital raising in the private and public markets, joint ventures, cross-border acquisitions and disposals, and other strategic transactions in the region.”
