Plante Moran, an audit, tax, consulting and wealth management firm, made various leadership changes, effective July 1.

Bill Brickey has assumed the role of managing partner of Plante Moran’s Detroit office where he’ll focus on developing and growing the firm’s Detroit staff as well as supporting the office’s practice development efforts. He’ll also continue his work providing audit, tax and consulting services to governmental, retail auto dealership and professional services organizations. Brickey succeeds Eric Wydra, who is preparing for retirement in November.

Matthew Kelly has assumed leadership of the firm’s K-12 education practice, where he’ll lead a team that serves more than 200 educational institutions, including K-12 districts, intermediate school districts, private schools and public-school academies. He’ll also continue to lead the firm’s Kalamazoo office. Kelly succeeds Plante Moran Partner Jennifer Chambers, who will continue her focus serving K-12 and real estate industry clients.

Alisha Watkins has taken on leadership of Plante Moran’s government practice, where she now oversees more than 200 governmental professionals to serve clients through compliance requirements, operational best practices, financial forecasts and strategic initiatives. Watkins assumes this role from Brian Camiller, who will focus on further developing Plante Moran’s government accounting professionals team, which provides outsourced accounting and financial management support to governmental and not-for-profit organizations.

“I’m looking forward to seeing these talented professionals’ step into their new roles,” Jason Drake, managing partner of Plante Moran, said. “Their knowledge and leadership will play a vital role in driving Plante Moran forward as we continue to grow and innovate — while honoring the values and client-first culture that have defined our firm for more than 100 years.”
